Editorial policy

Curious News Insights aims to make public information easier to assess, not to replace readers' judgement. We distinguish what a source says from what we infer and state uncertainty where it matters.

Accuracy and sourcing

We check factual statements against relevant source material and prefer claims that can be traced to an identifiable record, statement or original item. We consider a source's limits, the context around quotations and whether an image or chart is being used to support more than it shows. When material is incomplete or disputed, we say so rather than smoothing away the uncertainty.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for reader understanding, not to secure favourable coverage for a partner or contributor. A partnership does not buy editorial conclusions, and a commercial relationship does not determine which claims we examine. We do not imply that a collaboration is an endorsement.

Corrections

If a factual error is identified, we assess it and correct the relevant wording when warranted. Where a change materially affects a reader's understanding, we make the correction clear in the article rather than silently leaving a misleading account in place. Readers can send correction requests through the Contact page, with the passage and supporting explanation.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, supplied or otherwise partner-supported material is labelled clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Partner placements are identified where they appear, and their wording is not presented as independent reporting. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where an illustration is synthetic or could be mistaken for documentary evidence, that status is identified.
